How Counterpart started
Counterpart was founded by Brian Walters and Jordan Potsic. Between them, they spent more than 15 years building large-scale data systems.
And yet, when their own families got sick, they found themselves at the kitchen table, staring at bills that made no sense. They couldn't tell what was owed, what was wrong, or what to do next.
That's the problem Counterpart is here to solve.
Our mission
Counterpart is forming as a public benefit corporation. We believe the patient deserves a clear answer on every bill, and that the tools to get there should be accessible to everyone, not just people who can afford a billing advocate.
Every medical bill has three parties. The provider and the insurer both have teams. The patient is alone at the kitchen table.
